Asian Cultural Council Annual Fellowship Grants for Artists: Now Calling for Applications

The Asian Cultural Council (ACC) has opened its applications for fellowships to be awarded in 2017 and invites arts professionals in Hong Kong, Macau, and China to apply for cultural exchange fellowships to support specialized arts and humanities related exploration, study, research and creative projects that involve international travel and cultural exchange, either between Asia and the U.S. or across regions in Asia. Programs ranging in duration from three months to six months will be considered.

Arts organizations, educational and cultural institutions are also eligible to apply to the Council for support for projects of significant importance which involve cultural exchange between Asia and the United States or regional exchange among the regions of Asia.

Deadline for applications is 12:59 pm Hong Kong time on December 2, 2016

for programs to begin between June 2017 to December 2018.

The ACC program covers the visual and performing arts, both contemporary and traditional. Fields of awards include archeology, architecture (design, history, and theory), art history, arts administration, art criticism, conservation, crafts, curation, dance, ethnomusicology, film and video, museum studies, music, photography, theater and visual arts.

Application Procedures
Individuals and organizations from the regions of Hong Kong, Macau and China wishing to apply for an ACC fellowship program should complete and submit the Council’s online application form at: www.asianculturalcouncil.org.hk on or before 12:59 pm Hong Kong time on December 2, 2016.

Interested parties from other Asian countries or the U.S. should visit the Council’s headquarters website for appropriate application procedures: www.asianculturalcouncil.org . Final decisions will be made by the Council in May 2017, and applicants will be notified of their application results thereafter.

Briefing and Sharing Session
ACC Hong Kong will be offering a briefing and sharing session for interested applicants in order to provide more information on the content of an ACC fellowship program. The session will be held on Monday, November 7, 2016 from 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm at the ACC Hong Kong office. 2014 HKETONY-ACC Fellowship recipient, Adrian Yeung will be our featured guest, and will be speaking on his own ACC trip to the U.S. which took place over the summer of 2015. The session will be conducted in Cantonese. English consecutive interpretation will be provided upon request. Seats are limited, and registration is required.
