Long Musuem (Chongqing) opened to the public on May 27. Ms. Wang Wei is director and chief curator of the Long Museum Chongqing. The Long Museum Chongqing is located at the Guohua Financial Center in Jiangbei District, Chongqing. The Long Museum Chongqing occupies the first three floors of the twin tower and has three galleries inside, focusing on Chinese traditional art, revolution-themed painting and contemporary art, respectively.
As the first institute in Chongqing focused on the presentation of a world-class collection of both Chinese and global art, the Long Museum Chongqing is dedicated to combing local needs with international vision. As a new landmark of the city, the museum will offer new perspectives and experiences for both professionals and amateurs to interact with art.
“100 Years of Chinese Art (1911-2011)”, featuring more than one hundred iconic works through 1911 to 2011 from the collection, celebrates the grand opening of Long Museum Chongqing. Through their unique historical value, cultural impact and epoch connotation, these works reflect the practice and exploration by Chinese artists during one hundred years. And they are going to witness the vigor and vitality of the Chinese art in the future.
