The first “Worlds Apart” art fair opens at the Conrad hotel in Singapore

Today until Sunday 27th sees the first “Worlds Apart” art fair in Singapore. Housed in guest rooms at the Conrad Centennial Hotel in the city centre, the fair is targeted at local collectors who may prefer works on a more manageable scale and for a lower budget than Art Stage allows. On the 23rd and 24th floors, a series of rooms have become mini-galleries in what is a very approachable – if rather underwhelming – display of wares. There are paintings lying on the beds and propped in the windows, and some gallerists have gone so far as to affix drawings to the bathroom mirrors. The majority of participants are Korean on the the advice of Mizuma Gallery founder and Director Mizuma Sueo, who is also showing paintings in a room on the 24th floor.
