ShanghART Gallery is pleased to launch ZHANG Enli solo exhibition in both main and H-space on 6 September, 2015. Focal characterized series paintings of “old tree”, “line” and “object” will be exhibited. The exhibition will last until 18 October 2015.
Seven years have passed since ZHANG Enli’s last solo exhibition held in ShanghART Gallery, this coming solo show in September is undoubted a reinforcing exploration and self precipitation regarding the observation to “static object”. From the early portrayal of characters to the pursuit of the origin of mundane objects in everyday life, artist regains the vitality of routine stuff from his gradually simplified images. Painted “winding lines”, “withered branches”, “piled implements” etc. are ordinary substances which trigger the nature and essence of matters in a subtle perspective, simultaneously reflecting the imperceptible extension artist adopted from physical entity to abstraction.
