20th century French philosopher Henri Bergson said “EGO, is to communicate with the outside world through its surface”. That is something that we are saved by a surface trace to face the world.

Artists are often conventional-like or that which is unconcsiously repetitive-like. One of their most basic drawing materials is using paint as the primary and sole creative medium. However, today there are some artists, who are willing to find more capable means to bear their artistic ideas to present the media to viewers. These media are like “mavericks” but in fact, they are like “derailments” that are not trying to distinguish themselves from the public. Instead, this new way of presentation is better able to increase exchanges between viewing subject and work.

“Great soul, and all objects attached to the air in which we breathe,” is a line from an Indian folk song lyrics. This line reflects that all objects (individuals) exist themselves in their souls. The artists, Lee Donsoon, Han Ho, Tao Na, Yan Kai, and Tan Tian have expanded their imaginations through media such as nails, LED bulbs, magnet pieces, tea, doornobs, and others. These seemingly small and ordinary, but individual media are no longer in the hands of the artists. Rather, they are attached to ordinary surfaces, leaving trails of time, space, and ideas in the frame.
