GUANHUA’S SOLO EXHIBITION: PROJECT ANOTHERLAND－ARTMIA

ARTMIA Foundation will hold a group exhibition of NEW ARTISTS PROJECT 109 “Tang Guanhua:Project Anotherland”in March 28, 2015.
The protagonist of self-sufficiency experiment in Lao Shan, the conceptual artist Guanhua born in 1989, will carry out his solo exhibition “AnotherLand” in ARTMIA New Artists Project 109.
This exhibition will display this full project, illustrate how he and his wife explore the possibility of building house, planting crops, tailoring clothes and solving energy sources problems fully depend on themselves. They are exploring a new social structure and defining the lifestyle of Intentional Communities.
In this project, the press, the internet, the media, colleges, plants, neighbors and even people themselves willpresent as creation materials to proceed this artistic attempt.
Guanhua said,”No matter what you pay your attention or not to this project, you already take part in it.” Guanhua‘s work: Project Anotherland ,reminds me about Joseph Beuys’s social sculpture, he had a generation of young people who they are that rare retro spirit, and take steps to build an almost impossible paradise, this is an extraordinary works, because this work is almost out of the art form as a way of thinking about the barriers that exist, the true sense of the way to achieve a transformation of existence possible.-Lei Benben

“People has unpredictability and complexity, with this double meaning to interpret Guanhua both seem too easy and it looks just

NEW ARTISTS PROJECT 109
The ARTMIA 109 New Artists Project is one of the cultural art projects funded by the ARTMIA Foundation. 109 project is based on a sustainable guideline called ‘start with one, continue with nine’. Its premise to support multidisciplinary artists with ‘one lead two, improve together’, the DNA chain of development model. It was set up to inspire each unique individual by giving young talents a chance to cultivate the art work and show to the public. Various art activities will build up 109 project’s history and record plenty of document literature. We believe that the Foundation and artists will pull together to explore the diversity of modern art and the unlimited possibilities of future development.
