‘Streaking’ is an event that has become a public topic. In the beginning it started from Li Binyuan’s accidental expression of his own individual expression. This kind of accident happened through a trend that has been recycled by the artist to become a conscious departure point. Li Binyuan solo exhibition ‘I am sick’ is curated by Sun Cancan, which will open on 24th August 2013 at Gallery Yang. A pathway has been opened that leads to many forms of creativity happening behind the artist. He graduated in the sculpture department at Central Academy of Fine Art and in this exhibition he will be exhibiting many examples of video and installation works. The distinctive methods of individual release have made Li Binyuan more known to people, but has also help them to attain a comprehensive and thorough understanding of the artist’s wide-ranging work. We need to go back to the original point ‘I am sick’ is a kind pride and emphasis of a feeling of self-existence in regards to the disdain and provocation of a secular world.

Background: My Creation Process
In my mind, the reality that surrounds me is the context I use to create. I hope that the art I produce comes from life, and that this life appears in the works I create. “Right here, right now” and “practicing what one preaches” are the ideals upon which my creative vitality is based, and the creative methods I use can be defined as “by any means necessary” and “make the most of everything.” My body is an open space, and it is also composed of time, clues, trails, memories, etc. Putting it another way, “I” myself am a work of art, and I carry this creation wherever I go. I am constantly changing, and continuously pushing myself to the furthest boundaries. It is this ideal which I am in pursuit of obtaining.
