With an extensive use of graphite on canvas and paper Liu Wentao passionately draws every single line to create his unique and absolutely subtle monochrome style.

These seemingly endless streams of interwoven lines gently reflect the light and create a defined silvery surface that gives his work a unique quality.

It is this accurate and precise character, which Liu Wentao combines with abstract geometric forms into captivating and fascinating objects.

Graduated from the Department of Printmaking at Central Academy of Fine Arts and after getting his master degree at University of Massachusetts, USA, Liu Wentao currently lives and works in Beijing.
