Pang Yongjie is widely recognized as one of China’s leading “post contemporary” abstract artists, and Fabrik Gallery is delighted to welcome him to Hong Kong for the opening of his new exhibition “Sensual Encounters” on Thursday May 14th. His works typically offer strong forms, interesting colour combinations, generous breasts and hips, voluptuous curves, and bright lips on rounded faces. The viewer cannot help but smile!

Pang was born in Shandong Province in 1968, and studied oil painting and Chinese inks and watercolours at the Central Academy of Fine Arts and Shandong Normal University. By the mid 2000’s, the artist had formed the abstract figurative style for which he is now known.

His works have been widely exhibited across China, in several Asian countries, and in the USA, the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium and France. There is a strong secondary market for the artist’s works. “Sensual Encounters” at Fabrik Gallery in Sheung Wan runs until June 12th, 2015.
