The Shanghai Ecodesign Fair will be held this weekend, April 13 & 14 from 10:00-16:00 at the Cool Docks, 505 Zhongshan Nan Lu. Come learn about innovative design ideas originating in Shanghai and lend your hand to two art installations that will be in the process of creation for the duration of the fair:

Ecographs
Artist: Multiple artists
Ecographs are original symbols that express unique perspectives on how we are communicating with nature. Aggregating 100+ ecographs that have been created in separate workshops in Shanghai, this installation is both a calligraphy exhibition and living laboratory of language evolution.

Urban DNA
Artist: Xu Zhifeng
Reclaimed steel pipe and other residual items of city life are assembled into a structure that mimics the pattern and variation of a DNA strand. A creative process is set in motion, and sustained by the participation of city dwellers that are passing by.
