The mention of Switzerland may bring to mind picturesque views of the Alps, an idyllic pace of life, supremely crafted timepieces and Swiss Army Knives, and a distinctive Swiss design featuring meticulous attention to details. Switzerland is not just the name of a country; it is a symbol of quality and standard. Influenced by the minimalist and post-modernism trends, the Swiss design is a combination of enjoyment, practicability and functionality. Swiss designers give equal weight to style and user-friendliness, setting the trend in lifestyle design by churning out large numbers of outstanding works of art.
“Swiss Made—-Events of Swiss Design Culture”, the series event jointly sponsored by the Power Station of Art (PSA) and Pro Helvetia Shanghai, will showcase some of the lesser-known Swiss designs in the form of exhibitions, lectures and workshops, providing an insight into the extreme richness and variety of Swiss landscape architecture, exhibition space designs, and new fonts following Helvetica created by emerging Swiss designers. This event will be a great opportunity for local designers to exchange ideas and find inspirations in art creations.
