Eight sets (more than 70 pieces) of works, mainly installations, created by eight representative young artists have been selected for the exhibition, including paintings, images and multi-media works. From February 5 to March 31, 2013, the exhibition had held in South Korea Arko Art Center, provided an opportunity for people in South Korea to see the latest artistic works of China, which was widely acclaimed by both public and art community of South Korea.

Under the influence of globalization, China is in the process of urbanization and has entered the so-called E-era. The rapid development of hi-tech including telecommunication is gradually changing the lifestyle of Chinese people and even their way of thinking. Particularly, it has an unprecedented impact on the creation approaches and conceptual formation of young artists. The symbol @, as a unique icon of the E-era, not only plays a key role in the daily life of young people nowadays, but also implicates a brand new living status. The word What reflects the unknown, strangeness and multiple possibilities in the creation of young artists; furthermore, it indicates the philosophical reflection and artistic expression by young artists on unseen social phenomenon people encounter during urbanization in China.

New Contemporary ART from China will include the latest works of young Chinese artists that explain their new way of thinking and language approaches they use in artistic creation in today’s rapidly changing world,
