Art Stage Singapore 2016 opens

Art Stage Singapore has just opened and here are some pictures to prove it. The VIP preview got off to a slow start but built as the evening wore on. Early responses are mixed, ranging from very positive to cautious optimism (no galleries Randian spoke to wished to be quoted). It is hard to say there is a particular pattern to sales at Art Stage but traditionally the second half of the show has generated a substantial portion of its sales volume (compare this with Art Basel, whether in Basel or Hong Kong, where sales volumes depend heavily on the VIP preview)

Highlights on show incoude Kishio Suga’s ring of standing stones at Tomio Koyama, a strong Yu Youhan painting at ShanghART, and a multimedia wall work at Giorgio Persano Gallery.

In other news, our congratulations go to Hong Kong’s Spring Workshop, which tonight won the Prudential Eye Awards gong for Best Asian Contemporary Art Institution. Great job and well deserved recognition for the workshop and its ethos.
