Australia China Art Foundation

The Australia China Art Foundation (ACAF) is a not-for-profit public organisation dedicated to supporting artists and building active links in the field of contemporary art between Australia, China and the Asia-Pacific region.

Our programs enable exhibitions, scholarships, seminars, internships, educational support, special events and art exchanges. The overriding aim is to equip artists with first-hand experience of the hosting country, and to encourage reciprocity within the region.

The Foundation is aligned to the independent Ausin Tung Gallery base in Melbourne, which manages a suite of studios as part of an Artists Exchange Residency Program. The Australia China Art Foundation is being further augmented by affiliations with artist-run spaces in China, along with private patrons, commercial galleries, public and institutional museums in China, Australia and the Asia-Pacific region. These affiliates share the vision of promoting cultural interchange and the understanding of contemporary art.

The Australia China Art Foundation was founded by Yashian Schauble, a Chinese-born Australian business woman, with the support of a number of art patrons in Australia, China and beyond.

The Australia China Art Foundation is governed by a board of trustees drawn from the art and business communities. The direction and implementation of our projects is set and assisted by Chinese, Australian and International Advisory Boards. These boards are made up of eminent figures with direct and indirect relations to the art world, including arts administrators, patrons, curators, collectors and artists.
