June 28, 2016, ANXIN TRUST, in collaboration with Art021, launched an art fund – ANXIN TRUST + ART021 Art Fund as a further step to promote the development of art. The art fund is registered under May Foundation, and the Shanghai Artemis Art Center (SAAC) is in charge of its operation and management. Both May foundation and SAAC are created by ANXIN TRUST.
The operation of ANXIN TRUST + ART021 Art Fund will be in line with the principle and academic vision of SAAC’s art support and sponsorship policy. The fund will be committed to fostering and promoting the development of contemporary art and supporting emerging artists in a variety of ways including international cultural exchanges, art-related exhibitions/projects and artist-in-residency programmes. In the meantime, the fund will also organize activities such as art curating and criticism, art lectures and “Art into Campus” in order to further the study, education and popularization of art.
By drawing on its own resources, ANXIN TRUST + ART021 Art Fund intends to draw the attention from more collectors and social parties to the course of supporting and sponsoring the development of contemporary art.
Ms. Amy Gao, board member of ANXIN TRUST and founder of SAAC, Ms. Kelly Ying, founder of Art021, and Ms. Zoe ZHANG Bing, Chairman of the Board of SAAC, are co-founders of the ANXIN TRUST + ART021 Art Fund. The management and decision-making processes of the fund will be in the charge of an art jury consisting of the three co-founders and four art specialists. Ms. Zoe ZHANG Bing will take the role of the Chairman of the Art Jury. Projects will be submitted to the fund through the recommendation of the jury and the elected by a secret ballot of the seven jury members.
The initial funding for ANXIN TRUST + ART021 Art Fund is donated by ART021 and from its ticket and souvenir selling and catering services. During the 2016 ART021 in Shanghai, the first art project with the support from the fund will be presented at the booth of SAAC.
