Hong Kong ICAROS Residency and International Choreography Festival and Dutch Days in Hong Kong present Peer to Pier. This one-year collaborative artist-in-residence and cultural exchange project explores the topic of ‘growth’ and involves female artists of different generations from Hong Kong and the Netherlands. As the first phase of the project, its public programmes consist of the installation Ichi by sculptor May Yeung and site-specific performances The Voyage.
The Voyage is a performance that brings culture, daily life and art together. A pier represents the place where a journey begins or ends. A group of Hong Kong and Dutch female artists invite participants to a sea journey exploring different stages of life. Feeling the silence and solitude, finding Tom Thumb’s voice inside one self, making unusual choices; all are part of the journey to expand the real ‘self’. Performers will reflect on their success and failure, struggles and achievements in life and work during the performance. Peer to Pier refers to the sharing, intergenerational learning and upgrading oneself in order to build others up. About Dutch Days in Hong Kong
The month of April is known to the Dutch nation as Koningsdag or “King’s Day”. The Consulate General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands celebrates and dedicates April as the month to hold the second edition of its art and culture festival in Hong Kong.
The festival “Dutch Days in Hong Kong” is co-organised and curated by Asia Week Hong Kong. It will host a series of events and programmes, in art and culture, taking place all over Hong Kong. The programme is a collaboration of many partners in the Netherlands and Hong Kong.
“Dutch Days in Hong Kong” will feature exhibitions, art lectures, a film festival, a culinary evening, and performances. It aims to weave an engaging dialogue to share ideas and best practices between artists, the greater public, students, collectors and art patrons.

About HKICAROS Residency
The Hong Kong International Collective Artist in Residency for Opportunities and Sustainability (HKICAROS) is taking place from the 14th of March until 13th of April 2016 where local and international artists will be able to collaborate, interact, exchange and share their creative process so as to value a constructive feedback, develop and present their works.
There are great master workshops from internationally well-known artists that will be open to the public. The residency is subsidized and supported by HKAPA, CCDC Dance Centre, Vangelis Legakis – Unity Space.

About Hong Kong International Choreography Festival
The Hong Kong International Choreography Festival (HKICF) is modelled specifically after the residency (HKICAROS) so as to internationalize and give more opportunities to local and international artists living and working in Hong Kong by interacting and meeting with international artists from across the world. Over four days at Sheung Wan Civic Theatre there will be short and long performances by all artists who have been part of the HKICAROS as well as from artists who will bring their production to the festival.

About Mur Nomade
Established in Hong Kong in 2012, Mur Nomade is a place for creative encounters. Managed on a non-profit-making basis, we operate as both a curatorial office and an art gallery. The proceeds of the gallery help funding our curatorial programmes: collaborative art projects, cross-disciplinary and cultural exchanges, open calls for young curators, performances, workshops and residencies. Our name is the French for ‘nomadic wall’ as we present site-specific curatorial projects in alternative venues all around Hong Kong, in addition to the regular programme of our space in the South Island Cultural District. To imagine and conceive our projects, we invite local and international artists, curators, writers and teachers. We like bold ideas, and we are convinced that confronting viewpoints and going out of comfort zones support creativity, stimulate emulation and encourage experimentation.
