Come Rain or Come Shine
[Press Release]

AIKE-DELLARCO is pleased to announce the new group exhibition, opening February 2nd and on view until March 15th 2013. The exhibition will showcase works by Hu Yun, Lee Kit, Liu Xinyi and Tang Dixin.”Not pleased by external gains, not saddened by personal losses.” (Fan Zhongyan,’On Yueyang Tower’ 1946) This ancient Chinese principal, also found in various cultures, says that a person should not be affected by the outside world and its ever-changing conditions. On the contrary, it proves the cruel truth, that people will indeed be influenced by their surroundings. Not surprising that the weather forecast appears in local newscasts first, before terror or politics.

Sharing weather information, the easiest and most universal topic of conversation brings people closer. The reason might be that it is one of the very few situations people still have in common. We must accept these natural conditions which can’t be violated or defied . The four artists presented here each address this concept in their own way.

Hu Yun, born in 1986 in Shanghai, lives and works in Shanghai. He is co-founder of the independent art e-journal PDF and Youth Sale Store, artists initiated pop up project.Hu had a three months artist-residency in the Natural History Museum London in collaboration with GASWORKS in 2010, and final outcome of residency project was on display in the Natural History Museum through out 2011. Hu had his first solo exhibition in the Magician Space in Beijing 2010; his works have also been exhibited at the 7th Shenzhen Sculpture Biennale (2012) and 4th Guangzhou Triennial (2012).
