Idea of Exhibition
“Infra-mince” is a mysterious concept that Marcel Duchamp proposed, with which he attempted to open up a subtle passage between the self and others. In a cross-cultural context that incorporates both East and Wes, and through a pursuit of the creative transformation of the Chinese traditional prosaic aesthetic, especially a new reactivation of Zhuangzi’s mental fasting under the idea of “only the Dao can gather the infra-void” and the “infra-objectifying” view of production, perhaps Duchamp’s dream can find new room for expansion and realization. China Contemporary infra-mince Painting can become the most subtle and rich within this transformation and shape a new kind of modernity within the active forms brought about by infra-objectification.
