55 was established in 2005 and located in M50 in Shanghai. 55’s mission is to provide a platform for emerging artists to carry out experimental projects within a progressive curatorial framework. 55’s aims are to promote critical and engaging contemporary art practices and ideas through exhibitions & curitorial projects. “FRONT.ROOM.LOOP” is an independent project and will be launched this March. It is dedicated to showing video works by emerging artists.
For the first project, Li Binyuan, a Beijing based artist, will presenting his performance on video entitled “Deathless Love”.
Li Binyuan was born in China in 1985. He graduated from Central Academy of Art in Beijing with a B.A. in sculpture in 2011. His recent exhibitions include: “Za Qi Za Ba” (Jinji Lake Art Museum, 2013); “Logic being discussed” (Organhaus, 2012); International Festival of Nature (Pusan, Korea, 2012); “That Girl” (Xi Wang Art Museum, 2012); Sub-Phenomena” (CAFAM Museum, 2012); “Re-presenting Reality” (5th Chendu Biennale, 2011).
