Gallery 55 is pleased to announce that the first solo exhibition by artist Wu Yunchang “INSTINCT” will be open on the 13th of Jan. 2018. The exhibition comprises oil and acrylic works on canvas based on erotic motif created by the artist between 2016 and 2017. The exhibition is scheduled to end on the 31st of Jan. 2018.

Wu Yunchang’s works are based on erotic images that give him the most direct feelings. He selects parts from the photos to interprete his views on sex and flirtation. Although he feels very close to those eye catching images, he would put them on the opposite side. The most important thing to him is how to express a picture in the purest way. The process of his creation is very much tangled. He often goes back and forth in order to achieve the picture he wants. And yet, he could not articulate exactly what a perfect picture looks like.
