The research on landscape has undergone two turns in the twentieth century: one is the visual purification movement based on historical landscape painting; the other is that the landscape is transformed into readable text and symbolic systems. Landscape is no longer an objective imitation and object to enjoy, but becomes the internalized medium of exchange of the beholder, the spot of visual possession and focal point of identity formation.

However, the human world never be changed and shaped so fast and furiously like today, scenery no longer simply refers to the real environment we live in, it also contains covered virtual presence at any time in the network and the media. The landscape at the present has formed a closer relationship with people, even most often, extension for imitating quasi birth state of each other, the interactive process of mutual penetration between human and scenery also gradually become a helper to expand our complex cognition systems. In the age of virtual network, artificial intelligence and man-made landscape, whether we can make a bold declaration: as a flowing medium that keeps up historical connotations, landscape’s subject has become technology itself, and the unthinking technology has transform landscape into human existence.

Five artists in this exhibition recorded, reconstructed and rewrited the fragments of life with different technological media. The scenes fabricated in their works presenta multi-sensory form of time, reflecting the delicate relationship between scenery and people.
