Gallery EXIT is pleased to present an exhibition of recent works by Szelit CHEUNG, Hilarie HON, Ashlee IP Wai Ting and Him LO. The exhibition will open on 23 July 2016 and remain on view through 27August. An opening reception will be held on Saturday, 23 July 2016 from 3 pm until 6pm.
Szelit CHEUNG is interested in composing order and underlying tension through the placement of still objects. Throught this, he endavours to depict a sense of helpnessess and distancing of the familiar.
Hilarie HON reflects her inner state of mind through interpreting the characters in the literature “Hundreds Years of Solitude”. The vibrant and bold colours used are suggestive of a dark humour in constrast to the artist’s mind.
Ashlee IP Wai Ting focuses on the depiction of moments: of fleeting passion, of disconnection and cumulative emotions. Her palette consists of an ambigious blending of blues and whites that freezes the time and location of where it was painted.
Him LO has been engaging himself in community art and his work is a quest to experience forms of destruction and reconstruction within a city.Through exploring different mediums, LO strives to stimulate the viewer’s imagination and empower the community with a re-defined relationship with public spaces within the city.
