Udomsak Krisanamis’ first solo show in Hong Kong
This November, Lehmann Maupin Hong Kong will present the first solo exhibition of Thai artist Udomsak Krisanamis (b. 1966, Bangkok). Based in Bangkok and New York, Krisanamis is a multimedia artist who engages themes of minimalism and abstraction to create bold, reductive statements in monochrome colors. In his debut show with Lehmann Maupin Hong Kong, Krisanamis will present a selection of mixed media paintings. Layering self-referential found material like newsprint, cellophane, and dried noodles between strata of acrylic paint and paper, the artist creates obsessively patterned grid collages that suggest fictional urban landscapes and Krisanamis’ own artistic engagement with modernist themes.
