Yang Fudong: Incidental Scripts
[Press Release]

The NTU Centre for Contemporary Art Singapore presents the first major solo exhibition of Yang Fudong in Southeast Asia. Yang Fudong is one of China’s best known contemporary artists who has gained international acclaim for his photographic, film and video works. The exhibition presents four of Yang’s works, each emblematic of his multi-faceted approach towards the creation of visual imageries that complicates our understanding of reality/fiction, and our experience of space/time.

Special Programme – Sensing Film: Describing the Indescribable

This is a special programme conceived as a sensorial experience of Yang Fudong’s artistic practice. Sensing Film takes participants on a two-part journey that will put to test one’s perceptual capacity. The programme will conclude with a roundtable discusstion at NTU CCA Singapore that will bring together a distinguished panel of international speakers to discuss the phenomenology of the cinematic.

*This programme will span two venues. Participants are required to stay throughout the progarmme and will be shuttled between the venues. Limited capacity, registration is required: Syaheedah Iskandar, siskandar@ntu.edu.sg

NTU CCA Exhibitions
The exhibition programme of the NTU Centre for Contemporary Art Singapore presents contemporary artistic production. The programme maps certain areas of interest that will be further explored through the NTU Centre for Contemporary Art Singapore residencies and research programmes, including reflections on postcolonial spaces, migration, diaspora, old and new trade routes. The exhibition programme brings together established international, local and regional artists.
