“Black Coal, Thin Ice” stars in Berlin
In the news this week, Chinese film made a breakthrough at the Berlinale (Berlin International Film Festival). The Chinese thriller “Black Coal, Thin Ice”, directed by Diao Yinan, won the coveted Golden Bear award for best film, whilst star Liao Fan took home the Best Actor prize. A Silver Bear was also awarded to “Blind Massage”, a drama set in a massage parlour in Nanjing, for its cinematography.
