Axel Vervoordt Gallery

Axel Vervoordt Gallery was established in January 2011 in the Vlaeykensgang in Antwerp, Belgium, as part of the Axel Vervoordt Company. The work and philosophy of ZERO and Gutai artists are the fundaments of the gallery, with further addition of established and young artists who share a similar creative approach in their exploration and contemplation of the void and the meaning of the universe.
In 2014, Axel Vervoordt Gallery opened a branch in Hong Kong, which launched with a well-attended exhibition by leading African artist El Anatsui. The gallery offers a complementary programme of specially commissioned works, and is becoming a significant platform for internationally renowned artists to participate in the radically-changing art scene in Asia.
Since the exhibitions in Venice, the relationships with living artists has intensified, and the appreciation and respect for their work has been a leitmotiv, both in the Axel Vervoordt Company as well as the collecting and exhibition activities of the Axel and May Vervoordt Foundation.
