Alternative Easter eggs to take over lobby of Metropolitan by COMO, London
Imaginative twist on traditional Easter eggs are part of ‘The Eggshibition’, a charity art installation on London’s Park Lane
This April, Metropolitan by COMO, London is celebrating Easter by turning the hotel lobby into an art gallery. The hotel has commissioned eight well-known designers, artists and fashion bloggers to conjure their own interpretation of an Easter egg, which will be exhibited via this in- house art installation.
Using any material, and in any medium they wish, the contributors are Zandra Rhodes, Julie Verhoeven, Helen Musselwhite, Giles Miller, Moritz Waldemeyer, James Joyce, Bip Ling and Fifi Lapin. The work will be available for hotel guests and the general public to view from April 1st 2014.
At the end of the month, the designs will be auctioned off, with all proceeds going to Metropolitan London’s charity partner, Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice. Noah’s Ark seeks to serve an estimated 900 life-limited or life-threatened young people and their families within the communities of Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey and Islington. The charity’s aim is to enable these young people to live positive lives and for the families to face the future with hope following the death of a child, with services ranging from practical and emotional support through to end-of-life and bereavement care.
Starting at 6.30pm on April 30th, the auction will be held at the Met Bar.
