Beijing Lan Space Gallery proudly annonces Zhu XingGuo’s solo exhibition “Big Fish” highlighting his recent works. The grand opening of the exhibition will be at 3pm on April 23, 2016. Lan Space is located in the Zuiku International Cultural Park of Caochangdi.
Zhu XinGuo say “He brought the paintings from the studio to Lan space, just like the old Santiago, the fish bone from the sea back to the shore. I was unable to excessive statements. These pictures can not be rendered for your” big marlin “sublime, but it left Competing with traces of life when ……”
In Xingguo’s paintings, there somehow exists some awkwardness and disfluency, which might be out of his inner concealed conflicts, or of his incapability on the drawing techniques and mastery. The awkwardness and disfluency as such, plus a simple and generalized drawing formal language should have led to a result that makes his paintings’ expressiveness deteriorated, however the ultimate outcome turns out to be such an effect that may give an index to we human beings’ predicament, “though we are in this world, but not of this world. ” – a cognition that one who realizes he actually is a sojourner, a pilgrim, an alien against this earth.
It is out of my humble opinion that the cognition like this is tremendously magnificent, for by which we can question further “who am I ？” and“ from where I came ？” in addition because we have perceived everybody as an individual existing in this world and in this vast cosmos as myself holds an absolute loneliness, we could therefore comprehend the loneliness and helplessness of all human beings’ also, hence we could love our neighbours, love the Life itself.
