Following the 5 Year Plan for world domination, the Liu Dao electronic art collective has sailed across the straits to set up a mini-island6 in the glamorous heart of Hong Kong. Located in the historic district of Sheung Wan, island6 Hong Kong is propitiously situated on No. 1 New Street, an intersection that marries old and new elements of the area. With the opening of “Dripping with Aurum”(June 2012), island6 is proud to join the community of local and international art galleries located in this historic and blossoming arts district. island6 Hong Kong will follow in the footsteps of her big sister in Shanghai in showing cutting-edge new media art that explores contemporary issues in Asia through multimedia,interactive artworks. In its signature style of fusing the traditional with the modern, the artworks on display will involve the use of LED, interactive components, photography, video, neon, sculpture and post-contemporarypainting imagery.
Liu Dao 六岛 (or Liù dǎo, a Pinyin phrase meaning “island number 6″) is a Shanghai-based art collective of tech-geeks and creative talents driven by innovation and interaction.
