NEW ARTIST IN COMMUNE PROJECT
COMMUNE X ARTDEPOT
N.A.I.C PROJECT is Co-sponsored by “SOHO CHINA–Commune By The Great Wall” and “ArtDepot”, we are aiming at helping with the developement of the Chinese Contemporary Art, and becoming a platform that discovers and exhibites the new generation of outstanding artists. Commune by the Great Wall is hailed as a “New Architectural Wonder of China”, this building group is combined with architecture, aesthetics and culture. It was designed by 12 world-class architects with great concentration, exhibited at the 2002 la Biennale di Venezia and bestowed the “Architectural Art Promotion Award”. Each and every detached structure is presenting us the unique reflection and insight of master architect about architecture, art and environment. Commune By The Great Wall is hailed by architectural and artistic academies as classic until today.
In this project, Jia Xinyu, Jiang Chuan, Ma Lingli, Yang Kai four young artists will be invited for an artistic creation that lasts ten days. We will exhibit artworks of these artists in the “Shared House” that engineered by Kanika. In that time, Guo Dian, Lang Can，Lei Tong, Liao Man, and Tao Hui will also receive our special invitation, bring their artworks and join us for the exhibition. This is not only a spiritual dialogue between Chinese Contemporary Art and Commune By The Great Wall, but also an artistic trans-border exploration for the new generation of Chinese contemporary artists.
