Lin Guocheng Salon Show “Interbeing” explores the artist’s sophisticated view on the universe in his painstakingly detailed landscapes.
“Interbeing” means that the universe is a unified whole, where an inseparable and interdependent relationship exists among all beings, and Lin Guocheng fully visualises this intertwining relationship in his landscapes. The artist intuitively delineates the “Qi”, a vital life force of all beings, in his works by synchronizing his pen with the rhythmic pulse of nature and allowing his breath to penetrate into every vein of the universe. Lin engages viewers to explore the harmony of nature where all beings, such as trees, mountains, clouds and mist, nurture each other in the state that continuously oscillates between static “form” and fluidic “Qi”.
