Parkview Art Hong Kong presents “Naturescapes – a global perspective”, a bold confrontation between artists’ personal interpretations of nature. Drawing from local and international traditions and disparate visual languages the exhibition explores man’s eternal quest to express, dominate, learn from, reduce and extend the natural world and its meanings.
This exhibition brings together an impressive lineup of international artists with brand new work by Marc Quinn, abstracts by pioneering Star Group members Ma Desheng and Mao Lizi, and striking works by Korean post-war trailblazers Kim Tschang Yeul and Chun Kwang Young, Hong Kong re-inventor of the Chinese landscape Koon Wai Bong and other leading artists.
The mission of our gallery – a member of the Parkview Group – is to build on its existing network of relationships with artists, collectors and art lovers in China and abroad to encourage dialogue between artists, art and viewer, East and West.
Parkview Group has supported Chinese art for the past 50 years and Chinese contemporary artists for over 20 years. Its art collection includes a substantial collection of contemporary Chinese art, an invaluable collection of imperial Chinese stone Buddhist carvings, the largest Dali collection outside of Spain and numerous artworks by western modern and contemporary masters. The collection has grown in scale and received critical acclaim thanks to the leadership of Mr. George Wong, Chairman of the Parkview Group, the eldest brother of the family and Honorary Professor of the Nanjing University of the Arts. George Wong is also the driving force behind Parkview Arts Action, a new arts organization dedicated to providing a platform for emerging artists to address pressing environmental issues.
