Unicorn Art is a non-profit art organization set to open officially in January 2015 in Caochangdi, Beijing. In extensive collaboration with both established and up-and-coming Chinese and international artists, Unicorn Art will organize academic exhibitions and public programs, and commit itself to the dialogue of contemporary and international art, providing visitors with expositions of pioneering art and art professionals with a solid platform for interaction.
With two main exhibitions spaces, Unicorn Art plans to present, annually, ten art exhibitions of differing scales, tackling a variety of themes. At the same time, we plan to introduce a wealth of public programs in order to foster rapport between artists and their audience, allowing patrons to gain a deeper understanding of the underlying concepts behind the works.
Our “Artist-in-Residence Program” will aim to continually provide artists with a space to live, produce, and connect. (“Artist” is broadly defined to include curators, art critics, and art writers, in addition to artists.) It is located on the third level of our space, with two bedrooms and a salon in the form of an open-air leisure space.
