Soul of the Soulless
Edouard Malingue Gallery, Esther Schipper, König Galerie
Condo Shanghai

Owing to Edouard Malingue Gallery's great commitment, Condo will finally come to Shanghai in July 2018. “Condo” — taken from “Condominium” (com “together” and dominium “right of ownership”, referring to a territory formally shared by different powers) — is a new format for international galleries to collaborate in exhibition-making. >> Read more

Art has no equivalent of the Skyscraper Index, the notion that record-breaking towers tend to be built, hubristically, just prior to an economic crisis. ABHK 2017 UNREPORT

Reports on the art market are suddenly very hip. The art market is still such a tiny little thing compared with other markets, like pork bellies or copper, but a sufficient number of investment bank clients are involved in it to make the analysis worthwhile. The trouble is that most reports are rubbish, with a few exceptions. >> Read more

Shanghai Gold Rush Part 1: West Bund Art & Design

I stepped off the plane, inhaled deeply, and choked on the news that America had elected Donald Duck as president. Had the plane actually crashed in a massive ball of fire without me noticing? >> Read more

Frieze Masters (you know you want it)

There is an added frisson from thinking it's all there for the taking—you just have to want it badly enough and with a confident smile, whip out your Amex Centurian card. >> Read more

Interview with Dan Graham

When I first saw Dan Graham, he stood almost anonymously by the wall, white hair and beard, a checked-flannel shirt and old cardigan.
